CH. Wgasa Oakhurst Willow
(CH. Oakhurst Mountain Maverick, SC, VCD1, CDX, RN, ET x CH. Oakhurst Xena)

Willow-back to back 3 point majors at the MT Palomar shows in Vista, CA under Judges Monica Canistrini & Anne Marie Moore shown by Barbara Rupert

Willow was born four days after the loss of her grand-dam Augie.Willows dam Xena was to have her puppies at the Warfields and I told them I would help whelp the puppies. Willow was a standout and my favorite at birth. I kept my eye on Willow and as the weeks went by, she continued to be a standout. I decided that I had to have her, so my dad bought her for me as a birthday present. Willow has a wonderful temperament and just like her grand-dam Augie, she obsessed with food. She will find food anywhere, even if it is a crumb, and nothing is safe when she is around. Not only is she an AKC Champion, she is a Champion Counter Surfer as well!! Willow finished her championship very quickly. She won a 3 point major in her very 1st show from the 6 - 9 month puppy class beating 18 bitches at the Del Sur KC in San Diego, CA. After she turned a year old she was shown 6 times by Barbara Rupert. She won points 4 of the 6 shows and went Reserve the other 2. She was shown a few times as a Special and received an Award of Merit at the OCRRC Specialty in 2004 under Judge Betty Stites.

My precious Willow died having a c-section in January 2008. 3 of the 5 puppies survived with the help of Willows best friend Kiaya. She took over as their mom and raised them as her own. I don't know what I would have done without her. I still can't believe she is gone.

I think of you often
and make no outward show,
But what it means to lose you,
no one will ever know.
You wished no one farewell,
not even said good-bye,
You were gone before we knew it,
and only God knows why.
You are not forgotten
nor will you ever be,
As long as life and memories last,
I will remember thee.
To some you may be forgotten,
to others a part of the past,
But to me who loved you dearly,
your memories will always last.
Nothing can be more beautiful
than the memories I have of you.
To me you were someone special,
God must have thought so too!
If tears build a staircase
and memories a lane,
I would walk all the way to Heaven,
and bring you back again
