CH. Oakhurst Hakim
(CH. Oakhurst Kukos Dreyfus, ROM x CH. Oakhurst Amani Shakhete)

Hakim- 2 points to finish his championship(again) under Judge Muriel Newhauser

Hakim was in Augie's first litter bred to Dreyfus (CH. Oakhurst Kukosa Dreyfus, ROM) and my 1st home bred champion. He was the lone male of the litter of 7. He was owned by the owners of Augies sire and dam. Hakim was a large Ridgeback, but his size didn't hurt him in the show ring. He finished his championship easily with 3 majors. The 1st when he was 9 months old. I miscounted on his points (pre online results!) and showed him in the classes at the Long Beach National and satelite shows in 1997 when he actually finished the week before and I didn't know it. Hakim lived with me for 6 months while he started his show career and he was the easiest dog to live with. He was an easy going dog with a wonderful temperament and was loved by everyone he met. He was the 1st dog that I showed from start to finish, the 1st dog I ever but a major on, my 1st home-bred champion, both Augie and Dreyfus' 1st chamion of record and the 1st dog I ever won Best of Breed with.

Hakim's 1st points-a 3pt major under Judge Nadine Johnson
